Galatians 5: 1-26 Flesh - What is it? - Not the body - It is the EGO, the proud self reliant self - prideful - it is that part of us that is unwilling to yield/submit to authority - - Think Garden of Eden - This is the ROOT - CORE of who we are with of without Jesus - We will be victims of this ROOT - both Here and in Eternity - Unless we heed the GOSPEL!! It begins with knowing there is a battle for control in every ONE of our lives, who is in the battle and where that battle is taking place. 1. God - Holy Spirit is working i us - to conform us to Christ 2. Satan is working on us to control us 3. Self or the flesh The ROOT/CORE of the Problem. Romans 8:1-11 No condemnation - To those who are IN Jesus - Walk according to the Spirit - This walk was bought for us by Jesus - Set our minds of things of the Spirit Col 3:1-3 - To think this way is life and peace. Rom 8:6 There is condemnation - Who are not IN Jesus - who walk according to the flesh - set their minds of things of the flesh - Fleshly minded is death - Enmity with God - Not subject to the Law - covenant with God - CANNOT BE - VANNOT PLEASE GOD God is GOOD - God never has to urge Himself to be good, holy - At his very ROOT/CORE is good, holy NO EVIL Satan cannot urge himself to be good - There is nothing good in him - cannot be urged to be good -His ROOT is evil and that is exactly what comes our of him BUT we are different - We are not like God - - made in His image But we just like Adam, we our ROOT/CORE are SINFUL - The flesh is sinful Gospel Presentation 1.
